3D printing is one of the fastest growing industries nowadays. To create innovative solutions on this field, the raw material, the filament plays an important role. Our team has comprehensive experience in the polymer & chemical industry, especially in biopolymer compound technology. Based on these experiences we develop filaments with special mechanical and chemical properties. These unique filaments fulfill special 3D printing needs of a variety of industries.

Filaticum Technical products – mainly produced from PLA – are characterized by the following:

  • can be cut and sanded.

 PLA – the biopolymer

More and more companies and individuals use 3D printing, which means, we have to consider the long-term consequences of this trend. We want to reduce the carbon footprint of 3D printing as much as possible, that is why most of the Filaticum products are made from PLA (polylactic acid). PLA derives from plant containing starch and this biodegradeble product can decay in 1-5 years. Compostability of the PLA is proofed if it successfully meet the European standard, EN 13432 or EN 14995. Filaticum products fulfill these requirements.
