Founded in 2015, Filamania Ltd. produces and developes Filaticum (formerly Philament) products in Hungary.

Our team has extensive experience in the polymer & chemical industry, particularly in biopolymer compound technology. We develop filaments with special mechanical and chemical properties based on these experiences. In a variety of industries, these filaments fulfill special 3D printing needs.

PLA - the biopolimer

More and more companies and individuals use 3D printing, which means, we must consider the long-term consequences of this trend. Since we want to reduce the carbon footprint of 3D printing as much as possible, that is why most of the Filaticum products are made from PLA (polylactic acid). PLA is derived from plants containing starch and this biodegradeble product can decompose in 1-5 years. PLA is considered compostable if it meets the European standards EN 13432 or EN 14995. The products offered by Filaticum satisfy these requirements.
