This PLA-based filament offers enhanced possibilities for industrial applications. The thermal stability of objects printed with Filaticum Engineering is extremely high, they could bear up to 120 °C heat, in most of the cases without any heat treatment after printing.
Filaticum Engineering is also much more resistant to other external impacts than standard PLA materials: it has a high tensile and compressive strength and extremely high stiffness, making it an excellent material for objects that are exposed to typical influences in industrial environments.
Thanks to its unique recipe, Filaticum PLA High Impact filament provides the printed object with high impact resistance, comparable or even higher than PETG provides. The flexibility of the filament is similar to that of polypropylene, but printing with it is as simple as with any PLA filament. The impact resistance of the filament depends largely on the printing parameters, it is preferable to print at higher temperatures – up to 225 0C.
Objects printed with Filaticum Foam (lightweight) have got a foamy, spongy texture. The hard 3D printed foam has open cell structure. Due to the foamed structure, the layers are barely visible, and it has a rogh, sandblasted-like surface, . However, it can be easily sanded, cut, painted and shaped as needed. The beige color variant looks natural and the black one has a particularly matte finish.
The structure of the foam, the quality and structure of the surface can be widely modified by changing the printing settings.
Objects with the required density and foam structure can be printed by setting the parameters accordingly.
At higher temperatures, lower flow and speed, and with a large nozzle the lightest foam can be produced. Using the standard PLA settings, the result is a tough foam and impact resistance. The density of an object made of Filaticum Foam is 50-60% of that of an object printed with standard PLA. Depending on the settings, it can be varied from 0.6 g / cm3 up to 1.2 g / cm3.
Filaticum Foam is suitable for applications where light 3D printed objects are needed, e.g. automotive industry, modelling or founding. Its foamed structure can be exploited in printing art objects, sculptures, and biologically active substrates. It can be applied as support material also.
Filaticum Semiflex is a soft, flexible filament. Objects printed from this filament will not break or deform when they are moderately bent, and after that they will regain their original shape.
The filament has a Shore hardness value of 95, for comparison, it is equal to the hardness of a shopping trolley wheel, for example.
Filaticum Semiflex filament is already a flexible on the spool, easy to wind without breaking or stretching. It retains its softness after printing also, making it suitable for producing various types of catches, dampers and objects where it is important not to scratch other surfaces.
Thanks to its PLA base raw material, it is much easier to print than most other flexible filaments and does not require a special printer either.
Recommended printing settings: lower speed (50 mm/s) or higher temperature (215, max. 220 °C)
Filaticum Electrical products are used mainly in the electronics and automotive industry where electrostatic charging of the printed object can damage the product. Objects printed with Filaticum CONDUCTIVE, ESD or ANTISTATIC do not charge electrostatically due to the special carbon and chemical additives. Additionally, the dust and fine powder does not stick on the surface.
To decide for which application which filament suits the best, can be determined mainly experimentally. It depends on the electrical and mechanical requirements of the objects, and the 3D printing parameters. Filaticum Antistatic has the best mechanical properties, similar to standard PLA. Filaticum Conductive is the most rigid in this line, because of the used carbon powder and fiber, required for conductivity. Filaticum ESD is somewhere in the middle range.
Filaticum Antistatic: its main feature is the immediate and permanent antistatic effect. Its important characteristic also that it does not absorb the moisture content of the air. It keeps most physical properties of PLA, and it has increased impact strength compared to PLA. It can be produced in any color. No sloughing, off gassing or blooming.
For proper printing results use PLA printing settings: we recommend 210-230 °C printing temperature, at least 0.2 mm nozzle, and printing speed no higher than 90 mm / sec. Bed temperature 40-60 °C, usually any type of surface can be used.

Filaticum ESD provides surface resistance at megaohm order of magnitude, but this highly depends on the size and shape of the printed object. As a rule of thumb, if the printing temperature is higher, the surface resistivity is lower. The surface resistance also depends on the orientation, with a higher value in the Z direction and a lower value in the XY direction.
Usually any type of bed surface can be used, in case of capton, the traction is stronger.

Filaticum Essence – just like Filaticum Model and Gypsum – is member of the product group containing gypsum. Their common characteristic is that the added gypsum changes the usual properties of the plastic, both functionally and aesthetically. The mineral content of Filaticum Essence is minimal, it does not contain pigments, and this combination resulted in an easy-to-use filament. The surface of printed objects is homogeneous, layers are barely visible, and the usual surface roughness is blurred. Mechanical post-processing of objects (polishing, carving, etc.) and painting are easier than in case of standard PLA.

Filaticum Model – just like Filaticum Gypsum and Essence – is member of the product group containing gypsum. Their common characteristic is that the added gypsum changes the usual properties of the plastic, both functionally and aesthetically. The mineral content in the Filaticum Model is medium, less brittle than Gypsum filament, as for its basic characteristics it is between Gypsum and Essence filaments. The printed objects are off-white, with a matte finish, and the details are well outlined, which is useful for modelers. The printed models can be painted much easily than those printed with standard PLA or ABS filaments. The object can be sanded – both dry and wet – , and it is easy to cut, thus most accurate models can be printed with Filaticum Model. It is one of the most versatile Filaticum products.
Filaticum Gypsum – just like Filaticum Model and Essence – is member of the product group containing gypsum. Their common characteristic is that the added gypsum changes the usual properties of the plastic, both functionally and aesthetically. Filaticum Gypsum has the highest mineral content, thus it is yellowish, looks like rock or gypsum. The printed objects can be shaped very easily: they can be cut with a sharp tool, sanded, and polished, thus facilitating the post-processing of the object. It is easy to paint also, even with water-based paint. Due to the high mineral content the suggested printing temperature is lower than in case of standard PLA: 185-210 0C. Direct drive is recommended.

Filaticum Wood filament is designed to create objects resembling real wood in texture and color. Printing settings are the same as those for standard PLA, and you should pay attention to the same things. The nozzle clogging is not an issue with Filaticum Wood, as it I usually a case with wood filaments.
At the same time, the adhesion is excellent, shrinkage is minimal.
The wood effect is also enhanced by the fact that the printed object has a unique touch that is rougher and more natural than PLA. In addition, it is relatively easy to sand and simple to paint.
PLA filament designed for printing lithophanes, for beginners and professionals.
The uniquely developed off-white colour gives a beautifully bright appearance on thin surfaces and a darker, contrasting appearance on thicker surfaces. Printed objects will look like real photographs. Thanks to the additive used to achieve the special optical effect, the printed layers are also less visible, they almost disappear.
Filaticum Fuzzy filament was developed to create unique objects with a special surface. The layers typical for FDM 3D printing are blurred, almost disappeared, as a fluffy, fuzzy surface is formed over them. This is combined with a matt effect.
Filaticum Fuzzy is PLA-based filament, therefore PLA printing settings can be used as a baseline, and then, the surface texture of the printed object can be modified by varying the printing temperature. Recommended bed temperature: 60 °C.
For an even more special look, with a lower flow a surface with “craters” can be achieved.
In addition to the unique surface, the impact resistance of the material is also very good, it is easy to sand, post-process and glue also. The Z-axis adhesion of the print is also better compared to standard PLA filament.
To achieve the characteristic surface, in addition to PLA this filament contains additives, making it somewhat stiffer than usual. Due to the nature of the filament, it is prone to stringing, but this can be easily removed after printing without traces.
The spools weigh 750 grams, but they contain the same amount of filament length as standard 1 kg PLA filaments, so the material requirement should be calculated accordingly.
Filaticum Antiviral provides antimicrobial protection for the entire lifetime of 3D printed products. The active substance, built in to the PLA matrix, has been shown to deactivate many kinds of viruses and has been tested to be effective against Feline Coronavirus, H1N1 and Norovirus viruses, among others. The latest tests (according to ISO 21702) by the producer of the active substance confirmed, that the reduction of Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) germs is much faster than in the control samples without active substance. Thus, the active substance can be used effectively in the protection against Covid-19, however, the antiviral activity of the 3D printed product has to be tested by the manufacturer of the final product in a specialized laboratory.
Filaticum Antibacterial is a special filament which provides antimicrobial protection against a wide variety of microorganisms. Its antibacterial and fungicide properties are based on metal ions. In objects printed with Filaticum Antibacterial filament, the built-in metal ion complexes block the metabolic processes of bacteria and fungi by an enzymatic reaction, thus preventing their growth. A similar mechanism is present at disinfectants, various preservatives, wash-off and leave-on products.
Filaticum Antibacterial provides lifelong lasting antimicrobial protection against Gram positive (e.g. Enterococcus, Bacillus etc.) and Gram-negative (e.g. Salmonella, Legionella etc.) bacteria, and different fungi, yeasts and algae fungus. Its use is advantageous where the presence of these microorganisms is harmful, e.g. in hospitals, shops, households, beauty salons. With Filaticum Antibacterial, objects exposed to microbial infection can be 3D printed.
The active metal ion substance is incorporated in the PLA polymer matrix, and it does not have any negative impact on PLA’s favorable mechanical and printing properties. Filaticum Antibacterial can be printed in wide range temperature: 195-215 0C, without changing antibacterial properties. Solubility of the active metal ions and their migration to the surface is very low, so the dissolution from 3D printed objects is minimal, providing long-lasting protection for the object.
The active antimicrobial substance has been extensively tested using internationally accepted methods: ISO 22196, ASTM E2180 and JIS standards.
Filaticum Cleaning was designed for cleaning the extruder and the nozzle. This special filament incorporates short glass fibers thus removes staining and polishes the inner surface. Recommendation of use: print about 20 cm filament which cleans the extruder. If the outflow material clean, it means that the extruder is also clean. In some cases a little bit more material is needed. The efficiency of the cleaning process could increase, if you stop the printing for a while and then continue it. Regular use of Filaticum Cleaning reduces the plugging, increase the shelf life of the extruder. It is also strongly recommended if you changes often the different colored filaments or swap different raw materials.
